Week 29 Day 7 - Bathroom Painted and Beignets

10:54pm

It's a late post tonight. I came home from work to find the bathroom basically painted. My wife did it all, while pregnant! She is crazy. She painted all of the walls, including the ceiling, and also did the trim and door. We did a neutral, "chocolate milkshake" color. I like to call it that color, because it's what it reminds me of. I don't know the actual name. And I really don't care, to be honest. Milkshake it is. Speaking of milkshake, I could go for a Wendy's frosty right about now.

We walked over to my uncle's house. They just got back tonight from Nebraska, where our family reunion was. I couldn't go because of work. It was over the 4th of July, can't remember if I mentioned that already or not. But my dad and stepmom were there for the night, they are leaving tomorrow and heading back to their home on the east coast. We had pizza with them for dinner. My stepsister recently went to New Orleans and she had a picture of it on Facebook. I commented on the picture for her to bring me back some Beignet mix. Basically a creole donut. They are really good, and just melt in your mouth. Of course, it's better when you get them made there, but this is close enough.

Beignets from Cafe Du Monde, New Orleans, LA

Sometimes my wife still feels sick, even almost 30 weeks into the pregnancy. Like a morning sickness feeling. It supposedly is somewhat common for a pregnant woman to feel some of the morning sickness symptoms again in the third trimester. Luckily, they are nowhere near as severe as the first trimester. She was throwing up daily. Remember I had the PUKE FACTOR count at the bottom of each day's blog post? Yes, you do, if your a true follower.

Anyways I stumbled upon an article over at MommyEdition.com that thoroughly explains morning sickness and ways to cope with it. Check it out - here.

PUKE FACTOR = 0  (just kidding, she hasn't thrown up in months...)

Week 29 Day 1 - Baby Girl Clothes

3:15pm

Another day in paradise here at work. At least I'm off in a couple hours.

Yesterday we did some grocery shopping, maybe a little too much, considering that my ice pack for my lunches is so buried in the freezer now that I wasn't able to find it this morning. At least we won't be hungry for the next couple months. Eating a nice, fresh nectarine right now. One of my favorites.

We stopped at Target and Kohls as well. Like we always do, we ended up in all of the baby aisles. My wife and I like to look at all of the clothes. Sometimes she gets a little carried away there, but it's ok. I know how excited she is, well, how excited we BOTH are.

We also found out today that one of my friend's girlfriend is pregnant. So that's pretty cool. We know a lot of people that are pregnant. Either we are just at that age, or there is something in the water.

Week 28 Day 1 - Fetal Hiccups

9:18am

Officially in the third trimester. We are coming closer to the end. Or should I say the beginning? Only 12 more weeks to go, if she stays put to the end of the term. My wife thinks that she will go early, she has had dreams and signs of early labor. So she might be here even sooner!

Once the baby room is painted, I will get the crib set up ASAP. We will then need to rearrange the room a little to make everything fit right. It's not very big, but will suffice for the time being. She also picked up some gates for the top of our stairs. We won't really need them yet, but eventually will, and now it's one less thing we have to worry about later.

She still has abs!

While I was taking those pictures, she was feeling around and thought that she felt the baby's heartbeat. After a little staring at eachother, trying to figure out if it was actually her heartbeat or not, my wife realized that it was, in fact, NOT her heartbeat. It was the baby hiccuping! She said that she read that babys hiccup inside the belly, and that it is completely normal. Sure enough, the longer we felt, the more we could tell that we were feeling hiccups. Cool!

Some interesting information about fetal hiccuping

  • Almost all women will feel their baby hiccup sometime during the pregnancy
  • The fetus drinks amniotic fluid. When it does, the diaphragm contracts and causes hiccups
  • It can hiccup once the central nervous system is formed, anytime after late first trimester
  • However, you probably won't feel it until late second trimester
  • Fetal Hiccups are extremely normal
  • Some babies will hiccup on a daily basis
  • If it doesn't hiccup, that is normal too!

My wife's point of view. Can barely see her toes anymore!

Week 27 Day 7 - Nursery Paint

6:59pm

Short and simple. Met my wife at Home Depot after work to get a gallon of paint for the baby's room. We ended up getting Behr Premium because the associate told us that it is the least amount of fume's. He seemed genuinely interested in my wife's health, being pregnant. He told us that you can buy Benjamin Moore's all-natural paint. Which is probably the best, as far as health and natural ingredients are concerned, but is also double the price.

I think we can just go outside for a while that day instead.

I have been gaining fans via my Instagram account. I post lots of pictures daily, about the pregnancy and our life in general. Become a follower @PregoForMenBlog.

Snapped a pic of my wife making me lunch this morning. Look at that bump!

In case you were wondering what I do at work! That's a whole pork loin. Yum, pork chops!

Some cool storm clouds rolling in this evening.

9:42pm

Just got back from Target. My wife decided at 8:30pm that we needed to run to Target, which closes at 9pm. I'm the type of person that doesn't really like to rush when I am shopping. But she will. We had to look at some lamp shades, and make sure that fit right. She has them on her baby registry, and since invitation are going out shortly, the registries have to be figured out and set. We got everything figured out, and also got a tablecloth. Finally, we can't be scratching our beautiful new table!

Look at my two babies making us dinner! (Not her boobs!)

We want one of these! Any opinions?

I'm not much of a lamp guy...

Baby bathroom stuff. I didn't know there was so much.

Aww! Towels for her.

Week 27 Day 5 - Jacked-In-A-Box Review

8:10pm

We both had long days today. I just feel exhausted. Not too sure why, work wasn't that bad. She said that she was non-stop at her job today though. She didn't even take any breaks.

I was thinking very seriously about something earlier while I was at work. "I could get a lot more done, if there was less to do." Stupid, I know. Almost as stupid as "North West", Kim and Kanye's new daughter's name. Really? I hope it's a media hype, and they announce that it's not the real name in the near future. They are good at making money off of hype's like this.

Who's ready for a new prego picture?

Oh, did you want one of my wife? Here you go...

Almost to the Third Trimester!

Jacked-In-A-Box

$15 a month

Guy's this is one for us! If your into hitting the gym (like I am, or I should say "used to" since I haven't as much as I should!) then this is something to be interested in. Every month you get a box with 5-7 samples handpicked by Jim Stoppani and other editors of Muscle & Fitness, FLEX, and Men's Fitness magazines.

I got lucky though. This month featured MuscleTech products, which are normally the most expensive. It looks like they teamed up with them to provide some extra products. Check it out!

Thanks MuscleTech for giving me even more great stuff!

T-Shirt, X-large, a little too big for me :(

Nano Vapor, a pre-workout drink, this stuff works! Gives a ton of energy, not for the faint of heart!

MSRP is around 60 dollars I believe.

A shaker cup. A really NICE shaker cup. You put your protein in the bottom and liquid in the top, mix in when you are ready. The strainer looking piece, blends the mix while you shake. These are usually at least 10 dollars a piece.

More samples included!

Everything from the box.

I have had N.O. Xplode, and Assault. Both were great products. Ate one of the protein bars on the way to work today, it was actually good.

Great offers for Muscle & Fitness magazine subscription included as well.

This box is FOR SURE worth the price. Men love this stuff. I am willing to bet that at least 80% of men out there have had some sort of interest in working out. Most need the boost from supplements. It really does help, and this box gives them the opportunity to explore some of the options out there. Would make a great gift. Good age ranges for this stuff are 18-30 years old, I would say.

*Disclaimer - I did not receive any compensation for reviewing this product. I do get them at a reduced rate, or free. I will never recommend a product that I don't honestly approve of. My guarantee to my readers -  PregoForMen

Week 27 Day 4 - World's Best Husband Trophy

10:04pm

I'm trying to watch Game 7 of the NBA finals. I really hope San Antonio wins it. I can't stand the Miami Heat anymore. They have talent, but they are such crybabies.

My wife and I took a nice long walk today after I got home from work. My grandma sent home some of her homemade spicy pickles with my uncle today or yesterday. Not sure. So we walked over there to pick them up. It was a beautiful night for it. And my wife always talks about how she would like to get out and walk more often. The doctor said she should keep active daily, it's good for her while pregnant. I actually wear a FitBit pedometer every day. Today, between work and our walk, I took 15,000+ steps. A daily goal(which is hard to get) is around 10,000 per day.

She's looking at diaper cakes online right now as a possibility for the baby shower. Not sure if we would make our own or purchase one. I can't imagine they are very cheap.

I'm actually sitting here waiting for a "World's Best Husband" trophy right now since I worked all day, came home and walked with my wife after taking out the garbage, then came home and made dinner and did the dishes. I think that's pretty impressive, although most moms would probably look at me and say "is that all?"

Some of our flowers in our entrance way. They are looking good!

I'm excited that I received a true men's box to review. (When I get a chance, that is). It's all workout related stuff! My favorite! So stay tuned...

Week 27 Day 2 - Out Of The Box Sampler

10:18am

I must say, blogging has it's perks. I have been receiving all kinds of packages lately. I am thinking that I might have to add another page, just for product reviews. Hopefully everyone enjoys these products, I won't write about anything that I don't approve of.

Yesterday's mail:

Next week we will be able to take some new belly photos with our pregnancy stickers that we have. It jumps from 24 weeks to 28 weeks. There isn't much new to talk about with the pregnancy, other than we are actually getting some decisions made. Baby shower invitation samples are on their way here, so we can decide. Bedding set is decided on, I think we are even close to deciding on the name!

If you haven't seen my first Father's Day card, look at what my wife got me!

Even from my baby girl! :)

Out of the Box Sampler Club

June - Men's "Spoiled Rotten" Sampler

$25.00 per month/box

I have to say, I have seen a few monthly boxes now, and this one is yet another great idea. The box is LOADED with "manly"samples from several different shops around the web.(Although, this is a special men's version, the boxes are usually not just for men) Mostly from Etsy.com. Etsy is like an Ebay storefront for crafts and hobbies. People handcraft soaps, clothes, decorations, and just about anything else, and then sell it in their "shop". This sampler club combines several of the shop's products and allows you to try them out. The shops then give you a promo code so that you save some money when you are ready to order a full size product. I couldn't believe how many great things they fit into that tiny box. It would take you a few months just to try everything! This box is far worth the money, just scroll down and look at everything included.

Let's open this box!

Marinade spice kits

Some homemade lollipops between the marinades

Look at all those promo codes! Use them! Great companies

Look at all the sponsors. This box is the real deal.

I think men deserve being spoiled ALL of the time!

So many different quality products. How did they all fit?

This one smells like candy!

This handmade lotion is nice as well!

Pretty impressive I'd say. 25 bucks for everything included in this box. I would love to see what the other boxes look like, not necessarily just for men. But, being a guy, I will get plenty of use out of these products. I know my wife is a little jealous!
